Operators of drinking spots and pubs in Koforidua are gearing up for high consumption of both alcohol and none alcoholic beverages this festive season.

Popular drinking spots such as Daddy’s Bar, Big T, Mafio, 3 chambers and Benbow have increased stock of varieties of alcoholic beverages to meet the high demands.

The operators are expecting sales to triple to at least 60 to 100 crates of varieties of alcoholic beverages a day.

Mr.Henry T and Kwame Charles, operators of Big T Spot and 3 Chambers respectively told Ultimate News, during festive seasons, consumption of alcohol increases astronomically.

According to them, partying, wedding and other revealing activities associated with Christmas festivities increase alcohol consumption.

According to them, binge drinking of alcohol also increases during such period.
Mafio, a popular seller of a local gin (Akpeteshie) in the new Juaben Municipality told Ultimate news, sales is good during festive seasons, in particular, Christmas and New Year.

She said the gin is patronized in both wholesale and retail and even export as Ghanaians who travel to Ghana to celebrate the festivity buy in large quantity to abroad.

Alcohol is prohibited substance to persons under 18 years, however, during festive seasons, children between the ages of 16 to 18 years patronize the substance.

The phenomenon is best noticed during the popular Annual December 24, 2016, Street Carnival Bash organized by Y&K limited in Koforidua.
