The President-elect’s representative on the transition team, Yaw Osafo Marfo, has hinted that the NPP government will have its focus on economic management and not infrastructural development.

Speaking after a National Executive Committee meeting by the party on Thursday December 15, the former finance minister rubbished talk the incoming NPP government would place premium on infrastructural development in order to complete a number of projects started by the outgoing NDC government but according to Yaw Osafo-Marfo that will not be the case.

He says the NPP government is keen on revamping the country’s ailing economy in order to improve the lot of Ghanaians adding that it is mediocre for any government to boast about infrastructure.

‘Doing infrastructure is not anything to boast about, it is necessary and you must provide it as government…What is important is that your management of the economy should make the ordinary Ghanaian comfortable…’

He spoke of how the NDC government had mismanaged the economy to a point where Ghanaians are now unable to live comfortable lives. He said the NPP government will work assiduously to deliver Ghanaians from the hardship they currently find themselves in.

‘…If you want to win elections in Ghana it is important that the quality of life of the individual is improved. Infrastructure is important but infrastructure must serve the human body(human being).’

President-elect Nana Akufo-Addo has meanwhile asked for more time to put together a team that will be able to deliver on the expectations of Ghanaians in the next four years.
