Businesses in the country are set to receive a boost as the Convention People’s Party is promising to give them tax exemptions that would support them to expand to create jobs for the people.

Addressing market women and Trotro drivers at Yilo Krobo as part of his campaign tour of the Eastern Region, the party’s presidential candidate, Ivor Kobina Greenstreet said the tax exemption is something that will be a priority of a CPP government.

“The CPP will ensure that if you’re a market woman, trotro or taxi driver, you will not pay taxes as you are paying now. We will rather give the tax breaks to the ordinary citizens of this country,” he promised.

“We will make sure that if you’re a market woman, the District Assembly will not rush to make you pay taxes. We will rather reduce the taxes that you pay,” he added.

Mr Greenstreet also promised to establish special credit facility to support traders and small scale businesses in the country, if he is given the nod in the December 7 general elections, adding petty traders would to receive soft loans.

His campaign took him to Akwapim South, Nsawam Adoagyire, Okere, Akropong and Yilo Krobo constituencies where he assured traders that a CPP government would serve the interest of the people in the grassroot.
