Vice president Kwesi Amissah Arthur has commended the chiefs and people of Bunkprugu and Nakpanduri for bringing an end to decades of conflict in the communities.

Speaking to the chiefs and people while on a campaign tour in the Northern region, Amissah Arthur expressed gratitude to the chiefs for maintaining peace in very extreme situations.

“ We thank you for what you have done to make sure that the peace remains in this traditional area in Nakpanduri and the whole of the Bunkprugu area…without the peace, if there are no people when you build the road it is for nothing. The schools will be empty because the people would have run away to Togo” he said.

The vice president then asked for support and called on the electorate to vote for the governing National Democratic Congress to ensure continued infrastructural development in the community.

“…When we vote for John Mahama - the president - to continue, we will continue with all the good work he has started and has not finished because the people of Ghana deserve better…”

He tasked Ghanaians to vote for a united party committed to the country’s development rather than one fraught with internal wrangling and is unable to accommodate the thoughts of others.

Kwesi Amissah Arthur has just ended a one-week tour of the Northern region and is scheduled to begin a tour of the Western Region next week.
