Make special efforts to educate children - MP

Begoro (Eastern Region), 26 Jan. '99 -

Mr Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo, Member of Parliament for Fanteakwa, has advised Muslims to make special efforts to educate their children. Mr Ofosu-Ampofo gave the advice when he led a delegation of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) executives at the weekend to congratulate Muslims at Begoro for the peaceful manner they celebrated the Eid-Ul-Fitr festival. ''It is important for Muslim parents to realise that their children are their future assets and they should aspire to give them education to the highest level'', he stressed. Mr Ofosu-Ampofo, Deputy Eastern Regional Minister, urged Muslims to keep their environments clean and urged them to live in harmony with their neighbours and support government's development efforts. The Eastern Regional secretary of the party, Mr J.W. Agyekum, commended Muslims for supporting the government which had ensured the rapid socio-economic development of the nation. Other members of the delegation were Mr Akrasi Sarpong, National Organiser of the party, Mr Kwasi Dankyi, second Regional Vice - Chairman and other constituency executive members.
