Driver before court for DRIVERTING OIL PALM

Accra (Greater Accra), 25 May,

A 55-year-old driver of the National Oil Palm Plantation at Prestsea near Takoradi today appeared before an Accra circuit tribunal charged with stealing four drums of oil palm belonging to his employers. Ibrahim Seidu pleaded not guilty and was granted two million cedis bail to reappear on June 16. Police Inspector Edward Charles Antwi told the tribunal that police had received reports that some NOPP drivers who deliver oil palm to the Unilever company Limited at Tema often diverted some of the products. On May 21, the Police upon a tip off chased Seidu to Gomoa Amanful where he was arrested discharging oil palm into four drums. The prosecution said investigations are continuing. gri.
