New chiefs and linguists swear oath to Kumawuhene

Kumawu (Ashanti Region), 22 Jan. '99,

Three chiefs and two linguists in the Kumawu Traditional Area have at a ceremony sworn their oath of allegiance to Barima Asumadu Sakyi the second, Kumawuhene at his palace at Kumawu-Ashanti. They are Nana Obeng Darko Acheampong the second, Nseniehene, Nana Mensah Tweneboah, Twafokanhene and Nana Kwasi Asumadu Brempong, Hiaahene. The linguists are Okyeame Osei Kwame and Okyeame Ohene Agyekum. Barima Asumadu Sakyi reminded the chiefs and linguists about the enormous task ahead of them. He urged them to use their talents and resources to bring development to the area. Nana Acheampong on behalf of his colleagues pledged to serve the state faithfully.
