ECG workers urged to satisfy customers

Accra, Nov. 20 GNA - Mrs Felicia Sarfo, Human Resource Manager, Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG), on Thursday urged staff of ECG to work towards enhancing excellent customer care and relations to improve the image of the company.

She said they could do that by offering an outstanding service to meet customers' satisfaction.

Mrs Sarfo was addressing the 15th Anniversary of "The Power Queens Club" of ECG and the launch of their new cloth in Accra.

The Power Queens Club is an association of women workers in ECG with the aim of supporting management to achieve its corporate goals especially in revenue mobilization and improved customer care.

Mrs Sarfo stressed the need for the Management to equip the workers particularly the front desk, who are first point of call, with requisite knowledge on the accepted practice of customer care especially on sound principles of communication.

Mrs Sarfo said customers must receive the best form of treatment irrespective of their status adding that whether they were angry, arrogant, frustrated or abusive the appropriate skill must be used to get the customer on board.

She reminded the workers of their concept of adding value to customer care saying this included reliability of electricity supply, quick response to faults, prompt delivery of accurate bills and simultaneous up dating of customer accounts and records.

"The company is committed to operating at internationally accepted standards of quality, security, profitability and friendly environment through the cooperative effort of well developed and competitively motivated personnel using the state-of-the art technology", she said.

Mrs Amerley Awuah Asamoah, National President of the Club, called on the Management to consider the women in the company for top managerial positions as a way of recognizing their hard work.

She said the Club had been contributing towards the revenue mobilisation efforts of the Company, adding that it would institute measures to support Management to enhance the image, growth and sustenance of ECG.

She noted that as an interim measure the Club was collaborating with all its regional teams to launch extensive campaign against illegal connection.
