President Mahama has kept development faith with us - Chief of Nangodi

The Chief of Nangodi in the Nabdam District of the Upper East Region, Nangodinaba Yelzoya II, has lauded the government of President John Mahama for the numerous developmental projects completed in his area.

Nangodinaba Yelzoya said President Mahama has kept faith with his people by rolling out the development projects which is transforming lives and creating opportunities in his area.

He made the commendation when Vice President Amissah-Arthur paid a courtesy call on him at his palace in Nangodi.

Vice President Amissah-Arthur and his team also made separate calls on the Chiefs of Sokute in the Nabdam Constituency as well as the Chief of Zuarungu in the Bolga East Constituency.

Vice President Kwesi Amissah Arthur on his part said He said his coming to the palace was to seek his blessings as he enters his area to campaign as a sign of respect.

Vice President Amissah-Arthur said tolerant of dissenting views, peaceful and accommodating nature of President Mahama has made the NDC more united than ever before.

He said it is in the same manner that he has been able to keep Ghana united, stable and peaceful. These according to the Vice President are key and they will continue to be for Ghana’s development.

He used the occasion to appeal to all religious leaders and Ghanaians in general to pray for all the political parties and their candidates as the campaigning heats up and they crisscross the country to sell their messages. This is because it is an important national exercise.

Vice President Amissah-Arthur said without peace and stability no matter the plans government make, nothing would happen because people would be more concerned about their life and security.

He urged traditional rulers in the country ensure peace in their areas as the nation draw close to the December 7 elections.

Later in the evening, Vice President Amissah-Arthur and his team also interacted with the students from Bolga and Zuarungu Nursing Training Colleges to address challenges facing students and the two institutions.

Some of the points that came out during the interaction was calls by students for the restoration of the nurses training allowance as well as improved infrastructure in their institutions.

Vice President Amissah-Arthur addressing the students stated that government has listen to the petition of the students and would want to meet with the student leadership and see how best to address the issue of the nurses training allowance.

He urged the students not look at the issues in terms of what they would benefit today but the plans of the government for secured employment for the future.
