General Secretary of the Christian Council, Rev. Dr. Opuni-Frimpong, has cautioned Ghanaians not to be deceived into believing that peace is automatic for country, especially during election season when tension rises.

“As we move close to the elections…peace will not just drop, we must work at it and one way of working at peace is how we handle our grievances and work within the laid down structures even when we feel that we have been hurt,” he advised.

Speaking on 3FM, Rev Opuni-Frimpong said taking the law into our own hands is one way giving in on peace.

“Even when we feel that we’ve been hurt and somebody has not been fair to us and we feel that we can work outside the main structures and take the law into our own hands, be it church people, Muslims or political parties, then we are throwing ourselves into the hands of the dogs” he said.
