NDC sends message to Muslims

Accra, Oct. 30, GNA - The National Democratic Congress (NDC) on Thursday sent fraternal greetings to all Muslims in Ghana on the occasion of this year's Ramadan fasting.

A statement signed by Mr Bede A. Ziedeng, Deputy General Secretary of the Party, said the period of fasting was a very difficult one, and yet it constituted a very important exercise in the life of a Muslim as it prepared him spiritually for an encounter with Allah.

The statement said the NDC cherished the hope that Muslims would have the necessary strength, determination and willpower that would enable them to go through the period successfully.

It said all Muslims should take the period of communication with Allah seriously as it went to strengthen their faith.

The statement said Ramadan taught some moral lessons, which included tolerance, endurance, sharing with others, forgiveness and above all, having a sense of feeling for one another. It noted that these strong attributes were good for nation building and wished to urge all Ghanaians no matter their faith, to move along with Muslims in this direction for the benefit of the country.

The statement said as they went through this period for their own spiritual development, Muslims would also find time to pray for this country to enable Ghanaians to overcome the current difficulties that they were going through.
