Ghana and Swansea City star Andre Ayew says he is sad that a gifted player who sold Africa like Jay Jay Okocha never won the African best player award.

According to him, he considers his dad as a supremely talented player with Okocha coming in at a close second.

““I will say Abedi Pele is the most skilful. He had a lot of skills even though their style of play was different. He showed a lot of technique and a lot of finesse in his game,” Ayew told Accra-based Starr-FM

““And also I saw all his games, I also saw Jay Jay Okocha; he was my generation. It’s sad that he never won the African best player; football is like that.”

Ayew himself has had his own disappointments when it comes to the best player on the continent after coming behind Pierre Aubamenyang and Yaya Toure some few months ago.
