My life is in danger - Gbese Mantse

After two heavily-built young men on Thursday, June 2, 2016 allegedly attacked and vandalised the properties of Gbese Mantse, Nii Okaija III, at his ancestral home, Nii Tetteh Ankama Royal House in Ga Mashie, the obviously worried chief has disclosed that he has since then been living in fear.

According to Nii Okaija III, who doubles as the Adoten of the Ga State, he had had to abandon his ancestral home for fear of being killed by the hired thugs whose names were only mentioned as Ayitey and Lebi, from Ga Mashie.

“Although l lodged a complaint with the James Town Divisional Police Command in Accra on Friday, June 3, 2016 against the two young men, who invaded my ancestral home and in the process stole my belongings, I am still afraid for my life.”

“...I cannot even go to my ancestral house at Ga Mashie because the hired thugs are still looking for me. I am scared the thugs will come after me and kill me,” Nii Okaija III told Today.

Narrating his ordeal to Today in an interview, Nii Okaija III wondered why assassins will want to take his life.

He alleged that the assailants who were armed with offensive weapons entered his house on that Thursday around 6:00 p.m.

Nii Okaija III claimed that the attack on his life was as a result of his continuous court cases victories over the legitimacy of Gbese royal stool.

The chief indicated that the attack was the third in recent times to be visited on him.

“Their target was to come to the house that Thursday and check whether I was there so that they will kill me (Nii Okaija III), but my elders and people managed to advise me
not to be there on that day,” the Ga chief added.

To this end, the visibly worried Nii Okaija III appealed to the Inspector General of Police (IGP), Mr. John Kudalor, for immediate police protection
