The Minister of Youth and Sports (MOYS) Honorable Nii Lantey Vanderpuije on Wednesday, met with the Retired National Footballers Association of Ghana (RNFAG) and the Retired Women Football Association of Ghana (RWONFAG) to deliberate on issues affecting the development of sports in the country.

The Honorable Minister expressed the need for an establishment of a new sense of belief and reigniting a positive relationship between the retired footballers and the development of sports in general.

In a brief interaction with some executives of RNFAG and RWONFAG, the Hon Minister said, “I called this meeting for us to share ideas, to try and see what we can do so that Ghana will benefit from you”.

The Honorable Minister also acknowledged the rich empowerment of the Retired footballers and how they can impact on the quality of play on the upcoming generation of talented players emerging.

The Honorable Minister also emphasize on the role of RNFAG and RWONFAG in the technical development of football both in the men’s and women’s game and the need to keep the Retired Footballers within spectrum of all major stakeholders in the fraternity.

The President of RNFAG, Ibrahim Sunday was very grateful to the Minister as he is the only one ever to meet with them to discuss serious challenges confronting the sports in the country.

In attendance at the meeting was Ibrahim Sunday, Wille Klutse, Kuku Dadzie, John Nketiah Lordson, Rev. Osei Kofi, Awulequaye Senior and others members.
