Stop openly exposing your bodies - DCE to women

Agogo (Ash), Aug. 20, GNA- Mr George Frimpong, District Chief Executive (DCE) for Asante-Akim North, has asked parents to discourage their children from going out in sexy dresses.

He said when young ladies wear all types of fanciful dresses and "shamelessly expose their body secrets in the name of modernity" retards the crusade against the HIV/AIDS.

Mr Frimpong was addressing anti-HIV/AIDS campaign launched by the Precious Foundation, a Non-Governmental Organisation (NGO) at Agogo in Ashanti.

"It is worrying that some of us as parents by our inaction are sending wrong signals by approving indecent dressing that is fuelling promiscuity in our society", he said.

He advised that the only way people could avoid getting infected by the deadly disease was to ensure greater self-control and discipline in sexual life and abstain from pre-marital sex.

Mr Oppong Bediako, District Director of Education, cautioned society against creating conditions that would force those living with the disease to go underground and become reluctant to declare their status.

"Those infected need sympathy, support and encouragement," he said, adding that, they should be made to feel wanted but not despised or humiliated.
