President Kufuor tours Accra Metropolis

Accra, Aug.7, GNA - President John Agyekum Kufuor on Thursday took the Accra Metropolis by storm when he toured some parts to inspect projects and address separate durbars at Osu,La, Teshie and Nungua.

He rode in an open Pajero through the principal streets of Accra from the Achimota Overhead Bridge - Kwame Nkrumah Circle - UTC - Makola - WATO - Presbyterian Book Depot - Osu, where he addressed the chiefs and people.

President Kufuor laid a wreath at the King Tackie Tawiah I Cenotaph at Makola.

Along the streets milling crowds surged forward to catch a glimpse of President Kufuor and the security personnel had a hectic time controlling them.

Both the old and the young rushed from their homes to shower praises on him shouting the New Patriotic Party (NPP) slogan to which President Kufuor responded.
