Ghana displays rich culture at World Travel Market

Ghana's rich and unique culture was on full display when it held its Ghana Day Celebration during the just ended World Travel Market (WTM) Fair in Excel London

The Ghana Day celebration was held as part of WTM night of festivals at this year's event.

The Ghana Day Celebration attracted hundreds of patrons to Ghana's stand. The colourful display of Adowa dance through to the Kpalongo and Borborbor dance made the 42cm stand the toast of many.

Mr Victor Smith, Ghana's High Commissioner to the United Kingdom assured investors of the incentives put together by Government to help develop the tourism sector.

He said Ghana was not only noted for cultural displays but its vibrant business atmosphere, indicating that the Embassy opens its doors to potential investors interested in the sector.

Mrs Elizabeth Ofosu-Adjare, the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts said her Ministry has put lot of measures in place to attract investments to the sector.

She said Ghana was participating in the fair to showcase its travel package to the traveling world for them to know that, the country has diverse products and also show the beautiful culture of the country.

She said it was also to announce the country’s presence in the world tourism scene.

“Our goal is to ensure that the private sector gets good business in promoting the tourism potential of the country,” she said.

The WTM Fair, which is the world’s leading Travel Trade Show, is an annual event, which takes place in the British Capital of London.

It is seen as the prime meeting place and also an excellent opportunity to meet business partners to do business.

As a global travel event, the world travel market aims to increase tourism trade deals, international networking with travel professionals, buyers and providing travel business intelligence.
