Adamafio orders investigation into Aflao shooting incident.

The Minister of the Interior, Nii Okaija Adamafio today said he has called for an inquiry into Wednesday's shooting incident at Aflao in the Volta region following a violent confrontation between the Police and a mob in which three people died and said action will be taken at the appropriate time. Speaking in an interview in Accra today, he assured residents of Aflao that he will ''get to the bottom of the matter and no one will be shielded in the process.'' He expressed regret at the death of the three people and noted that there is a rising incidence of such violent confrontations in some parts of the country, which does not augur well for the maintenance of law and order. Three people were killed in two separate shooting incidents at Aflao yesterday, when police fired shots to ward off a mob, that attempted to disarm them and vandalise the police station after the police had tried to rescue a woman from being attacked by some youngmen in the town.
