Ashgold close to snatching Ashia

Kotoko target Kennedy Ashia has revealed he is close to joining Premier League champions Ashantigold.

Ashia has long been linked with a move to Kotoko with reports suggesting he has agreed personal terms with the club.

But fresh reports are emerging Ashantigold may have just stolen the march off their regional rivals for the signature of the highly-rated Liberty Professionals midfielder.

Ashia has confirmed he has held talks with Kotoko but reveals he could join Ashantigold.

“Yes, I have held talks with Kotoko. But Ashantigold looks the likely destination,” he said

“They (Ashantigold) are more serious and interested in me and so we’ll see how it goes.

“I’m a professional and so the club that shows more seriousness will be attracted to me.

Ashia is expected to play a key role for the Local Black Stars ahead of Friday’s CHAN return leg qualifier against Cote D’voire.
