Team arrives for housing exhibition

Accra, July 11, GNA - A team from a US-based international consortium has arrived in Accra to prepare the grounds for an exhibition of affordable housing models for the country.

The Leader of Prosperitus Incorporated team, Mrs Stella Bauschulte said the consortium is a conglomerate housing development company with investors and bankers in South Korea, US and Germany and it is ready to start building 1,200 affordable housing units in Ghana. Mrs Bauschulte, who is a Ghanaian, said she sees the country's housing deficit of about 350,000 living units as a big challenge for the consortium.

She said the consortium would bring in the capital and expertise and use Ghanaian construction companies to execute the project and create jobs.

Mrs Bauschulte would call on the Minister of Works and Housing, Alhaji Mustapha Idris Ali and also interact with officials of Ghana Real Estate Developers Association (GREDA).
