The Kotoko board of directors under the leadership of Paul Adu Gyamfi, former president of the Ghana Bar Association told Otumfuo Osei Tutu II on Tuesday that he will be right to replace them if he deems it necessary, because the Porcupine Warriors’ performance was below par in the 2014-15 season.

Otumfuo handed the mantle to Paul Adu Gyamfi and his team in 2013, following the resignation of Dr. K.K Sarpong as the Executive chairman of the club. Their first season was splendid, winning the FA Cup and league double for the first time in the history of Asante Kotoko.

However, the club went trophy less last season failing to defend any of the titles they won last two seasons.

The owner of Asante Kotoko, who is worried about the current state of the club on Tuesday told the board in a meeting that they should prepare their report for the two year period they have been in charge of the club.

And the Board chairman in his initial comments on his team’s performance last season stated that they failed to live up to billing, hence they had no doubts of reports circulating that Otumfuo wanted to sack them.

“The chairman (Paul Adu Gyamfi) acknowledged that the club had failed in the second year and none of the members had any misgivings if Otumfuo felt the need to give the club a new direction,” a press release from Manhyia signed by the Chief of Staff, Kofi Badu reads.
