Mr Rolland Mwansa, Acting Zambia Ambassador to Ghana, has commended Reroy Cables Limited, a subsidiary of Reroy Group for their innovations and creativity in adding value to its products and services.
He commended the company for manufacturing, processing and distributing electrical cables and accessories for both international and domestic market, stressing that, their effort has demonstrated commitment in expanding operations across Africa.
Mr Mwansa said most African countries failed to improve on their products and services, and preferred to produce raw materials for export, which reduces the cash inflows of the country.
The Ambassador made the remarks in Tema when he led a delegation to pay a courtesy call on Mrs Kate Quartey-Papafio, the Chief Executive Officer of Reroy Cables, to learn at first hand the operations of the company.
He said Zambia, which is a leading exporter of copper, was exploring possibilities of establishing an electrical cable company to expand the scope of business.
Mrs Quartey-Papafio said adding value to products was critical in creating jobs for the youth and for them also to be trained.
She said Reroy Cable would explore opportunities to expand and export to Zambia in line with the country's plans to establish a cable company.
Mrs Quartey-Papafio said the company produces 6,000 metric tons of Aluminium and 2,000 metric tons of Copper cables annually and there were plans to increase capacity.
