Oil Tankers Strike Cost 20 Million

The 2-day strike by the fuel tanker drivers last week resulted in the loss of over ?20bn revenue in unsold fuel for the period.

The break in the distribution also resulted in excess refined petroleum products at the TOR over the period forcing the plant to cutback on its scheduled production target.

Reports also indicate that security agencies investigating the alleged theft cases at the refinery itself are questioning some officials over their alleged involvement in irregular deeds.

Mr. Kwaku Agyeman Manu, Deputy Minister for Finance told the paper that government would not compromise on an efficient system for self-seeking officials or individuals “but we need credible evidence to prosecute and correct the wrongs if they exist”, stressing that the security agencies are investigating the issue.
