Sasso wins Fastest Growing Company Award

Samara Company Limited, producers of Sasso Insecticide Spray and Coil, has won the “Fastest Growing Company” award at the 2015 edition of the Head of State Awards Scheme (HOSA).

The award held at the State Banquet Hall, was to recognise individuals and corporate institutions that have distinguished themselves in their various fields of work.

The event was on the theme: “Rewarding Business in Support of Youth Development.”

Sasso won its award in a category that had Surfline, a telecommunications network, as its only competitor while the Samara Company Limited was amongst 20 corporate institutions honoured for their support of youth growth in Ghana.

Twenty young individuals were also adorned with the National Gold Award for their exceptional contribution to national development.

The HOSA makes it the third for the Company for two consecutive years as it won “Premier Brand Ghana”, “Top Emerging Brand” and the “Fastest Growing Brand” from different awarding organisations.

In a speech read on his behalf, President John Dramani Mahama said the government is committed to investing in youth development hence the introduction of some initiatives like the Youth Enterprise Development Fund to promote youth development.

He said it is commendable that corporate institutions in the country are focusing their activities on youth development.

He said the country needed more of such establishments to support the awards scheme.

The President said: “The awards seek to develop and maximise the potential of young people through selfless community service, challenges of adventure, skills development and physical recreation, to make them exceptional individuals who can contribute to national development.”

Mr Peter Akai Anum, Executive Director of HOSA, expressed the hope that the awards would challenge the youth and other corporate institutions to do their best.

Mr Samson Effah Appraku, Executive Chairman of Samara Company, described the award as a big honour saying: “To be given the fastest growing company award for the whole nation is something I can’t describe. I wasn’t expecting it at all, but I know with God all things are possible.”

He said the award would motivate him and the Sasso team to work harder to satisfy their clients.

“I feel motivated to do more for my country in terms of producing best quality products, more job creation for the youth; and do whatever it takes to put up a production plant for our products,” he said.
