NPP will collapse if Afoko, Agyepong aren't prosecuted – Agyapong

NPP firebrand Kennedy Agyapong has warned of a possible collapse of the opposition party if its general secretary and national chairman are not prosecuted for the killing of its Upper East regional chairman Adams Mahama.

According to the Assin South MP, Paul Afoko and Kwabena Agyapong should be held directly responsible for the acid attack that eventually led to the death of the regional chairman.

“ If the police doesn’t handle this matter properly, you will see what will happen in this country.

“ I know the NDC are happy about what is happening in our party so they will try and cover it up but I can assure you Afoko and Agyapong can never come out in public again.

“I swear, nobody can stop us from this party and if they want this party to collapse then so be it,” he charged on his Accra-based Oman FM.

He added: “Kwabena and Afoko must face the law if they don’t, you will see what will happen in this country. I believe that Kwadwo Mpiani is now pleased with what has happened”.

Mr Mahama was confirmed dead at the Bolgatanga regional hospital after he was showered with acid by two unidentified men Wednesday evening.

He was returning from his construction site late in the night when the two unknown men stopped him.

One person has so far been arrested in connection with the crime.
