Ghanaians urged to support schools for the disable

Mr Kwaku Fredua-Agyeman, Eastern Regional Chairman of the Progressive Peoples Party, has called on Ghanaians to give the necessary attention and support to students with disability.

This, he, said would enable them to get the needed training to contribute to the development of the country.

He said, many of the students now at the various institutions for the disabled have been abandoned by their parents and therefore need to be supported.

Mr Fredua-Agyeman made the call when he presented some food items to the Demonstration School for the Deaf at Mampong-Akuapem as part of activities to mark his 45th birthday celebration.

He appealed to corporate organisations, philanthropist, individuals and well-meaning Ghanaians to come to the aid of such schools to support government`s feeding grant to the schools.

Mr Solomon Kwashie Basty, Headmaster of the school, thanked the chairman for the gifts and other numerous contributions that he had been making to the school and appealed for more support.

Mr Fredua-Agyeman, as part of his support to the school, has adopted three speech-impaired students of the school.
