Eight Ghanaians fined for stow awaying

Accra (Greater Accra), 15 July,

Eight Ghanaians who stowed away to various destinations and were repatriated to the country were today fined a total of 800,000 cedis by an Accra Circuit tribunal. They were each fined 100,000 cedis or three months in prison in default. The prosecution said Egya Essoun, Samuel Kwaku, Emmanuel Eshun, Frank Tetteh, Robert Kwaku Lee, Dawuda Siedu and John Jackson Tano boarded different vessels in Abidjan while Emmanuel Koomson embarked on another vessel Gabon on different dates without valid documents. They were arrested at their destinations and repatriated, the prosecution added. gri
