"Eye Kanea, Eye Hann...Disgrace to womanhood. They were whipped and paraded in public for children to hoot at them. Their nakedness was of no concern to Konadu, Mary Grant and Co", is the loaded headline that dominates the front page of the Free Press.
The accompanying story says many readers of the Free Press have called the paper to voice their displeasure at the purely National Democratic Congress (NDC) orchestrated outpouring of emotion against a publication concerning the First Lady's encounter with two Frenchmen on board a Swissair liner recently.
The Free Press says the callers called on Dr (Mrs) Mary Grant, a member of the Council of State, Mrs Rebecca Adotey, 'occupier of the Ayawaso West-Wuogon stolen seat', Mrs Anim Addo, Chairperson of the National Council on Women and Development, Mrs Esther Lily Nkansah, Western Regional Minister, Sarah Akrofi Quarcoo, President of the Women in Broadcasting (WIB) and Mr Ekwow Spio-Garbrah, Minster of Communications to cast their minds back to 1979 and confess whether the "Eye Kanea, Eye Hann" episode was dignified of the Ghanaian woman.
