Avram Grant opens Black Stars doors to Muntari, Kevin

New Ghana coach Avram Grant says there are opportunities for every player to be part of the Black Stars provided they are ready to sacrifice for the nation.

Grant’s appointment appears to have enhanced the chances of a return for trio Sulley Muntari, Michael Essien and Kevin-Prince Boateng, who are currently not with the team for varied reasons.

An apology is being demanded from Muntari and Boateng for engaging in acts of indiscipline during the 2014 World Cup.

Though Essien is officially not facing any disciplinary issue, the jury remains out there for refusing to warm up for Ghana’s final World Cup game against Portugal.

While many believe the door to the Black Stars is completely shut to these three players, Grant says everyone is welcome provided they are ready to subject themselves to the tenets of the team.

“The door is open, but they need to show that they are willing to come and sacrifice for the national team,” he said.

“A national team – everybody including you and I need to support the team to be successful.

“The door is open for all players who are ready to come and sacrifice.”
