BARGH rewards hard-working airliners, personalities

The Board of Airline Representative of Ghana (BARGH), last night, held an award ceremony to recognised hardworking airliners, airport personnel and other stakeholders in the airline industry.

Mrs Essie Annor-Sackey, Chairperson of BARGH in an address said despite the slump in the airline industry since September 11, it has been able to meet the challenges, adding "its forging ahead for a better future".

She said there was the need to tighten security at the airport and that reports of passengers being attacked on their way from the airport sends a bad signal and affect the image of the country to the outside world.

She said revenue could be improved in the air cargo business if the sector is streamlined and ready to co-operate with the GCAA and the other airlines.

The winners included Pinalpina - Best Cargo Agent for 2002, GCAA Project Team- Best Airport Unit, while Mr Christopher Quaye worn the best Aviation Personality.

Journeymax Executive Travels Limited won the Best Travel Agent.
