We'll Continue To Take Tough Decisions--Justice Minister

Attorney General and Minister of Justice, Nana Akuffo Addo, has called on Ghanaians to support the NPP administration for taking the bold decision to increase petroleum prices.

The attorney general concedes that the increment is an unpopular decision with political implications for the ruling party in the short term. But he says the government should be commended for sacrificing political expediency. He told JOY News that the Kufuor administration is determined to take difficult decisions for the development of the country.

Nana Akuffo Addo said although the NPP?s political opponents will try to run down the government for taking the decision Ghanaians should at least appreciate the commitment of leadership.

''For the first time we have a government ready to face up to the problems of this country. I think the good people of this country should rally behind this courageous leader who is prepared to turn the corner for the good of Ghana'', Akuffo Addo said.

The NDC minority in Parliament has rejected the increases saying they are unprecedented in Ghana?s history. The group has called for a suspension of the increases pending further consultations with other political and social partners.
