THE GHANAIAN VOICE

The Voice in a front page story says the universal acclaim which should greet the introduction of the Statutory Law Revision Bill is muted by the mere presence of Section 35 of the Transitional Provisions (Indemnity Laws) of the constitution which prohibits any authority under the constitution from reversing any action or decision taken by the erstwhile Armed Forces Revolutionary Council (AFRC) and the Provisional National Defence Council (PNDC).

GRi's investigation has revealed the following statistics on the number of decrees issued by the military Juntas in Ghana so far.

MILITARY REGIMES NO OF DECREES N.L.C. 380 N.R.C. 360 S.M.C. 238 A.F.R.C. 70 P.N.D.C. 333

Total 1143

Out of the total some 38 are to be repealed. For more details plus analysis from some of those who were actually involved in the passing of the decrees, plus those who suffered, read the December issue of GRi.
