Water and construction show slated for July 2-4

A two-day water and building exhibition has been slated for the Accra International Conference Centre, Accra, from July 2-4, 2014.

Dubbed Water Africa and West Africa Building and Construction 2014, the exhibition will bring together over 90 exhibitors from around the world to display their goods and services.

The companies expected to attend the event include: DEM Ghana -- which supplies heavy equipment and service for the mining, agriculture and forestry industries; Wirtgen Group; Hitachi Mining and Construction Machinery; Jindal SAW Ltd -- an Indian company; and mosquito repellant paint manufacturer, Inesfly.

The event includes a two-day seminar that will focus on problems facing providers of infrastructure for the water, sanitation, and building and construction sectors.

Other issues to be discussed at the seminar include progress made toward the Millennium Development Goals, urban and rural water and sanitation, pro-poor water delivery, and reduction of non- revenue water.

Tanya Huberts, a representative of ACE Events Management, organiser of the event said: “The second day of the programme will include seminars on finance, roads and transport, health and safety and low-cost housing for the building and construction sector".

Ms. Huberts added that due to the nature of the event, the Minister of Water Resources, Works and Housing, Collins Dauda, will be the official guest of honour.

The event will be sponsored by Ministry of Water Resources, Work and Housing, Ghana Water Company Limited, Water Resources Commission, The Chartered Institute of Building, Ghana Institute of Engineers and many others.
