Patronise Made In Ghana Goods -Apraku

The Minister of Trade and Industry, Dr. Kofi Konadu Apraku has called on the management of Koala Shopping Centre to embrace governments call for the patronage of Made-In-Ghana goods.

He added that Koala should not be seen as selling mostly foreign goods but also become a channel of distribution for Made-In-Ghana goods so as to support the growth of local industries.

The Minister was speaking at the commissioning of the Koala Shopping Centre expansion. Dr. Konadu said the expansion work to Koala Shopping Centre involving an amount of about $1 million indicates the desire and willingness of Koala to invest in the economy of this country to improve the lives of our countrymen.

The Minister revealed that last year alone, the total tax paid by Koala amounted to about ?3 billion.

He assured the management of Koala that their investment in this country are well protected under the Ghana Investment Promotion Centre Act, 1994, Act 478,.

The Executive Director, Food and Drugs Board, Mr. E.K. Agyarko said his organisation is very confident about services and products sold by Koala for the past years till now, especially the security they provide for customers.

Mr. Agyarko called on the management of Koala Shopping Centre to remain committed to their good services and aim at creating a better economy as well as attract other investors into the country.
