Milan buy Essien slams 'haters'

Michael Essien used Twitter to hit back at “haters” who claimed he failed his medical tests at Milan.

The report emerged in La Repubblica this morning and quickly spread that the 31-year-old Ghana international had failed a medical due to an old anterior cruciate ligament injury.

However, within hours the rumours were put to bed by supplemental stress tests at the Milanello training ground and he’s due to complete his transfer from Chelsea tomorrow.

“Haters will broadcast your failure but whisper your success. Medicals done, looking forward to start my new life with AC Milan,” wrote Essien on Twitter.

He is reportedly due to sign a contract until June 30 2015 worth €1.25m for the current campaign and €2.5m next season, plus a €500,000 bonus for Champions League qualification.
