Akua Donkor: Konadu Rawlings should behave like Akufo-Addo's wife

The leader and founder of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), Madam Akua Donkor has lambasted former first lady, Nana Konadu Agyemang Rawlings whose presidential ambition is in the ditch currently, advising Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo to seek review of the Supreme Court verdict on the 2012 Presidential Elections results.

According to her, the recommendation by Mrs. Rawlings, founder and leader of the National Democratic Party (NDP) is unwarranted and exposes her hypocrisy because the petition has been adjudicated and the verdict accepted by the Ghanaian people.

Nana Akufo-Addo, she said, openly declared to the whole world that he believes in the highest court of the land. She averred that Ghana is a peacefully country in the aftermath of the verdict, which went in favor of the NDC and President John Dramani Mahama.

“So why would Konadu Agyeman Rawlings whose presidential ambition is in the ditch currently, advice the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and the 2012 Presidential candidates to seek review?

According to Madam Akua Donkor, former President Jerry John Rawlings who is founder of the NDC believes in the party’s ideology, arguing that it is better for Nana Konadu to stop tarnishing the party’s image.

She averred that she is not a member of the NDC and is not a card bearer of the party but believes in the rule of law and that what is good should be supported and promoted.

She noted that after the verdict, Nana Akufo-Addo conceded defeat, called president Mahama and congratulated him without the knowledge of members of the NPP, so why wouldn’t Nana Konadu also endorse and accept the judgment?

She challenged the NDP founder to rethink the decision and retract her uncalled for statement, which has the potential to spark violent rejection to the Supreme Court verdict.

Madam Akua Donkor noted that she is very happy with the way Nana Akufo-Addo’s wife has been conducting herself and called on Nana Konadu to do the same to promote her political party.
