We will restore hope - CPP

The Convention People's Party (CPP) says it still believes in its ideas decades after the overthrow of its founder Dr. Kwame Nkrumah, party officials have said.

As the party marked the 47th commemoration of Dr Kwame Nkrumah’s overthrow on Saturday, it observed that its ideas and strategies are in demand even decades after it proposed them.

The party said the much-touted free education, hydropower generation, a proposed construction of a new airport and a gold refinery, which are being pursued by the country as some of Nkrumah’s legacies which were neglected after his overthrow.

Speaking to XYZ News, the party’s Communications Director Nii Armah Akomfrah said the party is on course to strengthening its base.

“We have great hopes because the occasion is marked by largely younger people so the CPP is just at the beginning of renewing itself,” Nii Akomfrah said.
