French Embassy yet to vacate Flagstaff House

The Minister for Information and Media Relations, Mahama Ayariga in an interview with Bismark Brown on Breakfast TV has confirmed that the French Embassy on the premises of the Flagstaff House is yet to move.

Though President Mahama has officially moved into the building on Thursday, February 7, the French are yet to vacate the place.

The minister mentioned that the French have given a strong indication that they will vacate the venue in no time.

“They have given strong indication that they will leave so let’s give them sometime and see what happens

“We will just give them a little more time and see how it goes,” he said.

President John Mahama in an official statement through the Ministry of Information and Media Relations indicated that the seat of government will be moved from the Osu Castle to the Flagstaff House on Thursday.

The continues business activity of the French Embassy however has been worrying to some critics who feel security could be compromised if President Mahama is allowed to run business without the relocation of the French Embassy.

Mr. Mahama Ayariga however says that the Europeans “have given strong indication” that they will move from the premises.
