Nkoranza Cut Off By Rains

A number of communities in the Nkoranza District have been cut off from the district capital, resulting in large quantities of foodstuffs being locked up after recent rains.

Mr Samuel Yaw Adjei, Assemblyman for Nkoranza-Kassardjan Electoral Area, told GNA that drivers have refused to ply on the roads because of their condition.

Mr Adjei described the wooden bridge over River Tanfi on the Kintampo road as a "death trap", and recalled an accident on the bridge on December 24, last year, in which 22 passengers lost their lives when their vehicle plunged into the river.

He appealed to the Brong Ahafo Regional Administration to liaise with the government to pay immediate attention to the rehabilitation of the roads to mitigate the suffering of the people.
