Oguaa Sports stadium takes off in March

Preparatory works on the Cape Coast Sports Complex will start within the next few weeks to pave way for major works to commence in March, 2013.

The sports complex which will have basketball, volleyball and tennis courts as well as athletics tracks and football field will be constructed with a Chinese grant of 30 million dollars. The complex is expected to be completed within 26 months.

The Minister for Youth and Sports, Clement Kofi Humado accompanied by Mr. Louis SatchmoAtongo, Managing Director of the Architectural and Engineering Services Limited (AESL), over the weekend led a team of Chinese technocrats, officials of the utilities services including Electricity, Water and Telecommunications to inspect the site.

He told newsmen that the project was expected to benefit not only soccer but other disciplines in order for second cycle and tertiary institutions to use the facility for their sporting activities.
