God caused collapse of Akufo-Addo's stage

General Secretary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Johnson Asiedu Nketia, believes the tumble that Nana Akufo-Addo took when the stage on which he was addressing a crowd at the Jubilee Park in Kumasi caved in, is God’s way of exposing their hypocrisy.

The NPP Presidential Candidate was addressing thousands of party supporters on Sunday at the party’s Ashanti Regional rally when the stage caved in, sending him and other party members, tumbling to the floor.

Touching on the incident in an interview with Kwame Nkrumah “Tikese” on OkayFM’s “Ade Akye Abia” Morning Show, the NDC Chief Scribe opined that Nana Addo’s fall, was a clear manifestation that God has had enough of his and the NPP’s plot to destabilize Ghana ahead of this year’s election.

To him, the unfortunate incident was more or less an “act of God”, a sure sign from God to Ghanaians that Nana Addo’s cup is full before his maker. He added that it would be an error to equate Nana’s fall to a mere accident.

“A similar thing happened in parliament when S.K. Boafo pretended to be a tongue speaking pastor in parliament. He came to parliament and told a lie about me (Aseidu Nketiah)….but whiles he was on about it (on the floor of the House), I told him God would show him His power and judge between a lying pastor and an innocent man. As soon as I finished talking, a big metal fell from the ceiling landed on S.K. Boafo’s head,” he said.

Sounding rather religious, General Mosquito, as the NDC General Secretary is affectionately called, said the good Lord has different ways of visiting his wrath on people; in some situations he is long-suffering, whiles on other occasions, his reaction is swift, adding that the NPP leader is lucky to have escaped unhurt.

“When God pays you back…He makes sure you get hurt and you can do a cross check afterwards. God sometimes turns people into animals and in some instances even slays them…others also sustain injuries. The way things are turning out, it is a clear manifestation that God sees and knows all about the evil deeds of the NPP”, he said.

Whiles accusing the NPP of offering prayers to God and indulging in acts of lawlessness in the same locality, Johnson Asiedu Nketia further stated that the good Lord has clearly been indulgent with Nana Addo considering how his “all die be die” remark is posing a threat to the peace Ghanaians are enjoying.

“…the collapse of the stage is an indication that God does not want His name to be used in vain…The NPP held a Prayer and Music Festival at the same Jubilee Park which is located within the Manhyia constituency…a peace pact was signed in the presence of the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II (in Manhyia)…but less than a week later, the NPP MP for Manhyia, who claimed he was on a house-to-house campaign, visited acts of lawlessness on the constituents leading to hospitalization of an NDC activist…you think when a party exhibits such hypocrisy God will spare them?...He (Nana Addo) was on the same stage with Kufour who is much heavier than him. When the ex-president walked on stage to make his speech, it didn’t collapse, but ask yourself why is it that the incident occurred only Nana Addo was addressing the crowd?… This is a miracle to inform us that Nana Addo’s plot to start war in this country has been exposed and thwarted by God,” he surmised.
