Ayariga condemns invasion of Citi FM by his supporters

The Presidential candidate of the People’s National Convention (PNC) Hassan Ayariga has condemned the violent invasion of Adabraka-based Citi FM by some of his supporters to bay for discussion panelist Egbert Faibille Jnr’s blood on Saturday.

The Managing Editor of the Ghanaian Observer incurred the wrath of the PNC candidate’s supporters after describing him as a “sidekick” of the NDC when he appeared on the station’s Saturday current Affairs Programme “The Big Issue”.

Egbert Faibille Jnr was one of four studio guests who were analyzing Hassan Ayariga’s widely discussed attacks on the main opposition Flagbearer Nana Akufo-Addo at the last presidential debate.

The invasion followed Hassan Ayariga’s personal intervention via phone to demand a retraction of the word “sidekick” and an apology from Egbert Faibille but to no avail.

Speaking in an interview on Breakfast XYZ on Monday, Hassan Ayariga stated that despite his anger at Egbert Faibille Jnr, he didn’t subscribe to the violent invasion of the radio station by his supporters.

“They are my supporters and I personally asked my aide to issue a statement to condemn their actions and that they should not do that again.

“If one bad nut of the NPP wants to disturb the whole world, they should allow him we will not worry him”.

Hassan Ayariga also rebuffed claims that his denunciation of the free Senior High School promise of the NPP and other parties does not amount to a support for the ruling party as has been widely claimed.

“If I say I don’t support free SHS it doesn’t mean I want to attack Nana Addo. The free SHS they are all promising has lapses.

“We should not play with the integrity of this country…we should not use this country because we want to win power, let us tell Ghanaians the truth”.
