“We Are Solidly Behind Nana Akufo-Addo and the NPP” – Bandahene Assures Bawumia

Nana Kwasi Omankuminte II, Chief of Banda in the Krachi Nchumuru District of the Volta Region has pledged his full support for the New Patriotic Party and the Presidential ticket of Nana Akufo-Addo and Dr. Bawumia in the upcoming December general elections, describing the NPP as a party which has the people of Ghana and especially those in rural communities at heart.

Nana Kwasi Omankuminte II made this declaration on Wednesday during a visit to Banda by NPP Vice-Presidential candidate, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, on the second day of his three day Volta Regional tour.

Speaking at a durbar of the chiefs and people addressed by Dr. Bawumia, Nana Omankumite stated “I warmly welcome Alhaji Bawumia to Banda. I remember that about four months ago, your Presidential candidate, Nana Akufo-Addo was also here to interact with us and listen to our concerns. For us, this is another indication that the NPP is truly committed to us the people of Banda, the rural folk and Ghanaians in general. We remember all the social interventions the NPP introduced under former President Kufuor and the development which also came and for us, the NPP has demonstrated that truly you have the rural folk at heart.

We have seen that Nana Akufo-Addo is a true leader who can lead this nation greatly and we the people of Banda want to assure you that we are solidly behind the NPP, Nana Akufo-Addo and yourself and declare that we shall vote and vote massively for the NPP to return to office on December 7th.”

Nana Omankuminte II, who was sure in his mind that the NPP would emerge victorious in the upcoming polls, praised Nana Akufo-Addo and the NPP for deciding to prioritize education when elected into office.

He noted that despite loud statements of elimination of school under trees, his area still had many of its schools under trees and appealed that since the NPP had decided to prioritize education, the Akufo-Addo government once instituted should do its best to develop education in the Krachi Nchumuru district.

The Chief of Banda also appealed to Dr. Bawumia that the next NPP administration should establish a secondary school for the people of Banda and its surroundings especially since the NPP had already decided to establish 350 new secondary schools as part of its holistic educational policy.

Dr. Bawumia on his part thanked Nana Kwasi Omankuminte II and the people of Banda for the welcome they had accorded him and his team.

He was happy that the people of Banda had now come to the conclusion that the NPP was the party which was truly committed to the course of the people and to developing the nation.

He assured the people of Banda that the next NPP administration would be significantly different from the current NDC administration, which has supervised four years of stalled development, hardships and corruption and urged the people of Banda to vote massively for the Nana Akufo-Addo come December 7th.

The second day of the Volta Region tour saw Dr. Bawumia visiting over a dozen communities in the Krachi East and Krachi West Constituencies.
