President Assures Private Sector

President John Agyekum Kufour, has reiterated that there is no doubt of his governments policy of giving encouragement to the private sector in the golden age of business which has been given a welcome acceptance by those who have worked hard to receive such support adding that the next step will be for such persons to take full advantage of opportunities which the policy offers.

President Kufour said this when he opened the 5th West Africa Mining, Power and Water Exhibition Conference in Accra yesterday.

President Kufour explained that, the industrial week which has been in insertion since 1994 has always been successful emphasising that those who participated in the conference can attest to the benefits the mining industries accrued in all the member countries of the sub-region.

The President added that, the sub-region has the massive potential for the development and growth of a viable mining industry that will continue to attract skilled nationals of ECOWAS and enhance investments.

The chairman of the occasion Nana Prah Agyensaim IV , who is also a member of the council of state on his part said the mining industries should take their criticism seriously.

He hoped that the conference would enhance the economy since gold is a major pillar in the economy. He hoped that the exhibition would bring more investors into the country
