Was Kennedy Agyapong Behind Armed-Robbery,,,

....Attack On Kan-Dapaah?

News Desk Report

“It is only a thief who knows how thieves operate”

The opposition New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Member of Parliament (MP) for Assin-North Constituency, Mr. Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, is reported in yesterday’s issue of the New Statesman newspaper to have believed that the armed-robbery attack on his colleague the NPP MP for Afigya-Sekyere West and Chairman of the Public Accounts Committee (PAC) of Parliament, Mr. Albert Kan-Dapaah, was orchestrated by the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC).

Credible sources close to the NPP flagbearer, Mr. Williams Addo-Dankwa Akufo-Addo, have indicated to The Informer that they suspect the attack on Kan-Dapaah was orchestrated by the loud-mouthed Assin North MP. They refer to the recent outburst on an audiotape recording, which captured Mr. Kennedy Agyapong as saying that, Mr. Albert Kan-Dapaah, then as Minister of Defence, during the 2008 general elections, had asked him to hire macho-men to help the NPP retain power.

They also refer to Kan-Dapaah’s statement, denying that he had ever told Mr. Kennedy Agyapong any such thing, as well as page-4 story of the Daily Guide newspaper, in which the same gang is believed to have attacked Kris View Hotel, in Dansoman; robbing guests of their mobile phones and belongings.

One of the sources told The Informer that this were just armed robbers who were only interested in taking properties and not to assassinate or hurt anyone. According to the Daily Guide story, laptop computer, mobile phones, Jewelry, a licensed pistol and amount of $1000 were what the robbers succeeded in taking from Kan-Dapaah’s residence during the attack.

At the hotel, the gang took about 10 mobile phones, GH¢1000, $100 and other unspecified amount of monies from guests and workers.
