GFA to probe Kingston's bribe confession

Ghana FA boss Kwasi Nyantakyi says the association will launch a probe into Richard Kingston’s revelation of refusing a $300,000 bribe at the 2006 World Cup.

The 34-year-old made the shocking revelation at theSynagogueChurchinNigeriaof an attempt to have him throwGhana’s second group game against CzechRepublic at the mundial staged inGermany.

Kingstonhowever said he refused the bribe upon the advice of his wife who is now being accused of being a witch.

The revelation has raised several concerns at the Ghana FA with Executive Committee member Wilfred Osei (Parma) demanding a full disclosure of the ‘conspiracy’.

And Nyantakyi who was a year into his fresh administration during the World Cup appears to be in favour of a move to gather more facts on the potential scandal.

“I also heard it (Kingston’s revelation) through the media and I don’t know whether it is true,” Nyantakyi told GHANAsoccernet.com.

“As it is now, it is still a rumour. The matter has not been officially brought before us but we will probe further to see whether it is even true.”

Kingston made the revelation at the church headed by controvercial Nigerian Pastor T.B Joshua in a desperate attempt to prove his wife was not a witch.
