Credible information picked up by The Informer has it that, the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources is preparing to follow through government decision to reposition the Anaina International Company Limited, the private company that has been engrossed in the Kwabenya-Atomic land impasse.
The decision, according to this paper’s insider sources, was in view with government’s effort to enhance public -private sector relationship to better the lives of the citizenry, including the provision of affordable housing.
It would be recalled that, Professor E.H.K Akaho, then Director-General of the Ghana Atomic Energy Commission (GAEC), somewhere in January this year led a supposed group from the National Security to cause mayhem at the company’s (Anaina International Company Limited) site, at Kwabenya-Atomic enclave, destroying properties worth millions of cedis.

When The Informer contacted the majority shareholder cum the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the company, Mr. Clement Gyato, for his comments as regards the decision by government to relocate them, he express their appreciation to government and espouses confidence in the manner government has so far handled the matter.

“In fact, the impasse had given us sleepless night until now. We believe decision by government to put things in their proper perspective would inject life into our investment and give hope to the jobless youth in the communities near-by”, Mr. Clement Gyato stated.

Asked when they intend to start the project beautifully designed on paper to help augment government’s effort to help solve the housing deficit and unemployment problems of Ghana, he replied ‘as soon as possible’.

“My brother; the Anaina International Company Limited of which I am the CEO is eve- ready to move into action as soon as the relocation is done. I wish to state on authority that we will do as promised, and will not fail government as well as the good people of this country”, Mr. Clement Gyato concludes.

However, all efforts including calls placed to the cellular phones of the sector Minister, Mr. Mike Hammah, for his comments proved futile as of press time.

Anaina International Company Limited is in Ghana to put up a Pan-African International Business District (Pan-IBD) at a location soon to be determined later by government.
The world class international business complex, with a total construction area up to 1,200,000m square including wholesale & retail shops, offices, apartments, houses, warehouse, parking lots and a 5-star hotel.

Other facilities expected are supermarkets, departmental stores, restaurant, clubs, recreational facilities and a huge wetland part.
