Ghanaians should not undermine peace and stability

Ghanaians have been asked not to involve themselves in acts that would undermine the government and disrupt the present peace and harmony the country is enjoying. Speaking to newsmen on current events in the country, Alhaji Gado Sulemana, NDC Subin Ward 3 chairman, said one would admit that for the past decade, Ghana had been transformed and was progressing steadily due to the good leadership of President J. J. Rawlings.

He said, 'Ghanaians easily forget their past' and called on those fomenting trouble in the country to remember the past decade and compare situations in those days to the present. Alhaji Gado described Ghana as a peace-loving country and said it was up to the people to support the present transformation effort of the government.

The ward chairman also spoke on the spate of embezzlement in some institutions and said such acts constituted a national disgrace. He appealed to people placed in positions of trust to put their selfish interest behind them and work towards the progress of the nation. He said most of those challenging the government on its policies were the very people who were 'chopping Ghana small and asked auditors to be vigilant in the discharge of their duties.

The ward chairman also commented on the lifestyle of some government officials, saying that even though those people were to serve the nation with the best of their knowledge, the attitudes of some were highly questionable.
