Kennedy Agyapong’s Woes Deepens

…As He Faces Fresh Investigations Over Fraudulent Recording

The troubles of the embattled NPP Member of Parliament for Assin North is far from over as the police is set to investigate a “fake” recording of his genocidal comment he tendered in as evidence.

Kennedy Agyapong who has the penchant for loose talk, publicly called on Asantes to bloodbath Ewes and Gas. He sat on Oman FM, a station he owns and usurped the powers of the sitting president to unconstitutionally declare war, urged Asantes to annihilate all Ewes living in the Ashanti region by attacking them with machetes and cutlasses.

Kennedy Agyapong, further warned that any security personnel who would try to keep the peace in the Ashanti Region will be lynched.

“Today, I declare war in this country, Gbevlo-Lartey and his people, IGP should know this. Voltarians in the Ashanti Region will not be spared. If anyone touches you, butcher him with a cutlass”, Kennedy Agyapong said.

When he was invited by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID), of the Ghana Police Service, he was asked to produce a recorded version of the speech that he made on his own radio station, Oman Fm.

His Legal team led by Atta Akyea consequently produced a tape recording which appeared to be a doctored version, apparently deleting the convicting or incriminating aspects, forgetting that the police already have the original recordings of the speech he made that morning.

A Source at the police CID told this reporter that the recordings Kennedy Agyapong brought before the investigation panel is totally different from the authentic tape the police secured before he was arrested.

“It appears the part of the recording in which he specifically mentioned Gas and Ewes have been deleted. We are investigating this as well, and if need be, we will take it up because deceit of a police officer is a criminal offence”, the source said.

The Kennedy Agyapong’s doctored tape, which has been intercepted by *The True Statesman,* is completely different from what is already in the public domain. The portion which called for the total massacre of Ewes and Gas is missing on the tape.

It will be recalled that Kennedy Ohene Agyapong, Assin North Member of Parliament ordered the people of Ashanti region to massacre Gas and Ewes without any apparent reason, and went ahead to declare war in the country .

He was arrested and charged with treason felony, terrorism and attempted genocide.

Soon after the Assin North MP managed to secure bail last Thursday, he denied ever calling on the Ashantis to annihilate all Ewes and Gas living in the Ashanti region by attacking them with machetes and cutlasses.

It is not clear why he confidently denied what is already in the public domain but it appears he is trying to absolve himself from the charges leveled against him on the basis of the “fake” recordings he submitted to the police.
