Women, children flee Kpatinga over possible attacks

Information reaching XYZ NEWS has it that women and children are fleeing the town of Kpatinga in the Northern region.

A curfew has been imposed on the town following a parallel installation of two chiefs for the same area by the two royal families - Abudu and Andani.

XYZ News' Northern regional correspondent, Kizito Abagoami reports that there is subtle tension in the area forcing the vulnerable to flee the area.

He said there is the belief among the townfolks that there could be trouble if the curfew is not managed appropriately.

At the moment, the Kpatinga palace is being occupied by the chief en-skinned by the Andani family while the rival chief is living in a house nearby.

Kizito Abagoami however reports that the tension is not having any direct impact on patronage of the biometric registration exercise. He said the process is going on quite well with very little hiccups.**
